A Hamlet of our time
New dates for Hamlet are: May 5 at 6:30 pm, May 6 at 7:30 pm, Saturday May 7, at 2 pm and 7:30 pm Directed by Robert Gilbert Designed by Julian Southgate
The circumstances have changed. A major earthquake and the tragic death of Jaime Gilbert, director Robert Gilbert's son, have shaken us to the core.
Robert, however, feels that in memory of Jaime and out of respect for the fine work already completed by cast and crew that the production should carry on.
Robert himself will take over the role of Laertes for Jaime. A courageous decision. The Hamlet company and Repertory committee are fully behind Robert and feel privileged to be part of the great play rescheduled.
It is a palace mired in political and military tensions.

Instead, he is greeted with the excesses of a decadent dictatorial state.
With suspect speed his uncle, now the king, has married his brother's wife, Hamlet's mother (it is not, nor it cannot come to good).
Then, in a series of rare spectral visitations, Hamlet learns the truth and is urged to revenge.
The multi-layered complexity of Hamlet's personality has fascinated theatre-goers and scholars alike for centuries. Merging the eloquence of Shakespeare's incomparable text with gripping visual action, this Hamlet will undoubtedly be a hit - a palpable hit!
