Twelfth Night; The Feast of Fools! In Illyria , Feste - that wisest of clowns; observes the courtship rituals of youthful lovers and the saucy pranks of mature mischief-makers. One of Shakespeare's comic masterpieces (with hints of a darker underside).
The play has wonderful roles and the actors of all ages and talents, along with the resources of the Canterbury Repertory Society and the Canterbury Young Shakespeare Company, will ensure this is a top production, that will be talked about for years to come.
Magnificent Set
A magnificent set is being constructed, for Illyria imagine late 18th century Spain and the romantic early paintings of Goya, the set and costumes will reflect this.
The Directors are Rozena Hallum and Lin Clark.
This play marks a new venture for Repertory ; a co-production with a talented troupe from the Canterbury Young Shakespeare Company who brought the acclaimed A Midsummers Night to Christchurch audiences last year.
